Desert Marksmen
20th Annual Rendezvous
March 11-15, 2009
Join us for this extraordinarily friendly rendezvous in the
mountains above Palmdale, California, less than an hour north of Los Angeles. We
invite you to make history come alive at our pre-1840 encampment. This is the best
"beginner rendezvous" around! We welcome those who are just discovering the joys
of re-enactment, as well as our grizzled companions of the past 20 years. We have
separate primitive and tin tipi areas and more events than you will have time to
do.
Make new friends at our Friday night potluck. We still do things the
old fashioned way, with prizes for the winners, as well as those who don't score
in the top three. This is a great family rendezvous.
Events Include: Rifle and Smoothbore Walk Through, Hawk & Knife Walk, Primitive
Archery, Separate Pistol Walk Through, Cannon/Mortar Shoot, Shotgun & Dave Bell
Memorial Stake Shoot. Other events will be held as time allows, including Mountain
Man and Woman of the Year, fun shoots and compass course.
